The world’s first pregnant man has split from his better half.
Thomas Beatie, the bearded transgendered man who gave birth to three children, has separated from his wife of nine years.
“Like all marriages, we have our ups and downs, and we’re going through a rough patch right now,” Beatie reveals during a taping of the TV show, “The Doctors.”
“At the moment, we’re separated.”
Beatie, 38, gained fame in 2007 when photos of him, pregnant and bearded, circulated around the world.
Beatie, who was born female, kept his reproductive organs when he had a sex change operation in 1998.
Beatie had been living in Bend, Ore., with his wife, Nancy, 49, and their three kids: daughter Susan and sons Austin and Jensen.
Death threats had forced the family to live in seclusion.
Since their split, Beatie has undergone a final female-to-male gender reassignment surgery, People magazine reported.
“Nancy hasn’t seen the new me yet,” Beatie says.
