Centre to pay Rs 25 crore to dump Bhopal waste in Germany

NEW DELHI: A group of ministers (GoM) on the 1984 Bhopal gas disaster on Friday gave its approval to the the Madhya Pradesh government to dispose of 350 metric tonnes of Union Carbide chemical plant's toxic waste in Germany.

The Centre will pay Rs 25 crore towards the cost of airlifting the waste that will be removed within a year. The details of the plan will be finalized within two weeks.
